History:

Lakeshore Neuropsychology was founded in late 2021 to provide neuropsychological services to northwestern Indiana, to assist those with brain-related conditions, and their families, by providing information and support so that life can be lived to the fullest, even in the face of ongoing challenges.

Our goal is to provide excellent patient care through the process of neuropsychological evaluation and consultations, periodic educational talks open to the community, and access to a wide range of literature for those struggling with brain-related conditions in our Neuropsychology Lending Library.

Clinical Staff:

Clinical services are provided by Dr. Lisa Riemenschneider, a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist (ABPP, Clinical Neuropsychology).

Dr. Riemenschneider received her doctoral training at Wheaton College Graduate School, graduating in 2000 with her doctorate in psychology (Psy.D.). Her predoctoral internship was completed at the Danville, Illinois, VA Medical Center (1999-2000). Dr. Riemenschneider completed two post-doctoral residencies, one at the Memphis, Tennessee, VA Medical Center (2000-2001), and the other at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii (2001-2003). In 2014, Dr. Riemenschneider completed her board certification process, and she has been board certified through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) since that time. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN).

As for her clinical experience, Dr. Riemenschneider practiced briefly in a private practice in 2004 before she joined the clinical staff at Delnor Hospial (Geneva, Illinois) later that same year. She developed a clinical neuropsychological service over the years, covering both inpatient and outpatient services, and participating as part of the day-treatment rehabilitation team, throughout several mergers (e.g. Delnor Hospital later became part of Cadence Health, and is now part of Northwestern Medicine). After a move from Illinois to Indiana in 2016 to better pursue family needs (family caregiving), Dr. Riemenschneider eventually resigned from Delnor Hospital in 2018, and in late 2021, she established Lakeshore Neuropsychology in Michigan City, Indiana.

Dr. Riemenschneider’s philosophy of care is to join with patients and families experiencing health issues related to brain functioning, to provide accurate assistance to define the unique challenges they face, and to craft targeted  recommendations to promote healing and hope. Brain injury and brain disorders can be disruptive and disorienting. Getting accurate information and timely support can help reduce distress, so that a more effective and positive future can be pursued.

Dr. Riemenschneider provides clinical services for adults (age 18 to late life). Clinical specialties include brain injury (including concussion), stroke, and dementia, as well as other common conditions (e.g. Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, seizure disorders), and also a range of medical conditions that may impact cognitive functioning, (e.g. cardiovascular disease, COPD, Diabetes Mellitus, complications of surgical procedures, etc.)

Dr. Riemenschneider is licensed in both Indiana and Illinois.
